Report a concern
If anything on Writ worries you, tell us. That includes a comment from a tutor or a member of staff, anything that suggests a student may be at risk, or content that should not be here. Email enquiries@writai.co.uk with “Concern” in the subject. Our safeguarding lead reads every report, replies within one working day, and acts on it. You do not need proof, and you can tell us without giving your name.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. If you are a student and want to talk to someone now, Childline is free and confidential on 0800 1111.
Writ is operated by Writ AI Limited (company number 17467334, registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX). “We” in this policy means Writ AI Limited.
1. The point of Writ
Writ exists to help you write a personal statement that is genuinely, defensibly your own. The coaching engine asks questions and diagnoses weaknesses; by design it does not write statement content for you, and that restriction is enforced in our systems. Using Writ means using it in that spirit.
2. Academic integrity
You agree that you will not:
- use the service, or attempt to manipulate it, to generate personal statement content to pass off as your own;
- submit someone else's writing through Writ to "launder" it as yours;
- fabricate or exaggerate experiences, achievements, grades, activities, or certificates, in the product or in what you submit to UCAS;
- share the feedback, questions, or your account with others in a way intended to misrepresent authorship.
UCAS operates similarity detection and universities treat misconduct seriously. Responsibility for everything you submit to UCAS rests with you.
3. Protecting the service and other people
You must not:
- circumvent, disable, or probe our security or the no-write restriction;
- upload unlawful, infringing, harmful, or abusive content, or anyone else's personal data without a proper basis;
- scrape, bulk-download, or resell our content, course data, or supercurricular library;
- share account credentials, or use another person's account (each user must have their own login);
- interfere with, overload, or attempt to disrupt the service or other users' use of it.
4. School accounts
If you use Writ through your school, you also agree to follow your school's own acceptable-use and safeguarding policies. School staff (your head of UCAS, and a teacher assigned to you) can see your work as described in the Student & parent privacy guide — that access exists to support your application and must be used by staff only for that purpose.
5. Consequences
If you breach this policy we may, depending on severity, warn you, remove offending content, suspend or terminate your account, and — where a school account is involved — inform your school. We will act proportionately, and nothing here removes your statutory rights. Serious or unlawful conduct may be reported to the relevant authorities.
