Writ AI is a UK Socratic coaching platform that helps sixth-formers write the new three-section UCAS personal statement — without ever writing a word of it for them.

Our mission

UCAS changed the personal statement to three structured questions for 2026 entry, and most tools responded by generating text students didn't write. We built Writ to do the opposite: interrogate a student's own draft the way an admissions tutor would, so what survives is unmistakably theirs.

How Writ works

Writ's coach reads your draft one section at a time and asks hard, subject-specific Socratic questions — about the reasoning behind your interest, the evidence for your claims, and the clichés hiding in your prose. It never rewrites your sentences. When you're done, a specialist UK tutor reviews the finished statement.

Who it's for

UK sixth-formers and university applicants writing the new UCAS personal statement — especially those targeting Oxbridge, medicine, law, and other competitive courses where the statement genuinely differentiates candidates.

The founder

Writ was built by an admissions coach who read too many statements that sounded like everyone else's — and enough that won offers to see the pattern. The bet: enforce "don't write it for the student" as a hard technical rule, not soft advice.
